Checking Your Own Voice Mail
- Call the AVAYA Voicemail Number
- On-Campus Extension: 7888
- Off-Campus Numbers:
- Mount Vernon: 360-416-7888
- Whidbey: 360-679-530
- Enter your SVC phone extension and press Pound (#)
- First Time Logging Into Voicemail
- Your initial password is blank; press pound without entering any password.
- Follow the prompts to enter your New Password: The password must be 6 or more characters.
- Follow the prompts to record your name.
- Continue below to set a personal greeting.
- Press 3 to create a personal greeting: Follow the prompts to set an All Call greeting, or individual greetings for each specific type of call.
- Subsequent Login
- Enter your password and press Pound (#)
- Follow the prompts to get voicemail or manage personal greetings.
Changing an existing Voice Mail Personal Greeting
- If you don't know your Voice Mail PIN, call the IT Help Desk at 7766 or 360-416-7766.
- Call the AVAYA Voicemail Number

- Enter your SVC phone extension and press Pound (#)
- Enter your password and press Pound (#)

Press 3 to administer personal greetings
o Note the active greeting #
o To create, change or delete a greeting Press 1
o Enter the greeting # you want to change and press 1 to rerecord
o Press # when done recording
o To use this greeting for all calls press 1
o Press # if/when finished
Changing your recorded Name or PIN
- Access voice mail system the same steps 2-4 above
- Press 5 for hidden administration options
- Press 4 to change your PIN.
- Press 5 to change your name. Your name will be spoken to callers leaving a voice mail message and when you leave a message to another extension on campus.
Checking Voice Mail for a Hunt Group
- Follow steps 1,2, and 4 above under Checking Your Own Voice Mail.
- When prompted, enter 7 to check another extension.
- Enter the hunt group extension and press #
- Enter the hunt group voice mail password and press #
Visual Voice Mail
The Voice Mail button on your phone will no longer dial 7888. Instead, it will bring up a visual voice mail system. You can use the buttons on your phone to listen and manage your voice mail. You may still dial 7888 if you prefer the audio version.
