What Sites and Systems does this work for?
- This is only for changing passwords for SVC-managed accounts used with SVC Computer Systems, and websites that have been integrated into the SVC account authentication system.
- Examples of integrated sites:
- eLearning websites such as Canvas and Panopto
- Microsoft 365 websites such as Outlook.com, office.com, sharepoint.com, etc.
- Any other website or system that uses the same username and password as your SVC computer.
- For third-party websites and systems that have not been integrated into our authentication system, please use that site or the system's own password reset tools.
- Click the sign in button
- If you have not yet signed in to okta with this account, you will be asked to set up Multi-Factor Authentication. See This Article for more info: Article - Setting up Okta for Passwor... (teamdynamix.com)
- If you are not asked to set up Multi-Factor Authentication, and instead are presented with the "My Apps" Dashboard, continue below at step 5.
- MFA Setup Screen shot Here
- Within the okta "My Apps" dashboard, click your name in the Top Right-hand corner of the screen and select Settings from the context menu.
- Within the Account dashboard, use the Password Change menu to change your password.
- Enter your Current, New and Confirm the New password within each box, then click the Change Password button.
- Please pay special attention to the password requirements (yellow box in the below screen capture.)
- Cyber Security's best practice recommends using a Pass Phrase, which is a string of words that will be easier for you to remember. This is because password strength is determined by the length of the password; using a longer password with words will help you remember it easier while maximizing the password strength.
