Updating Windows

  1. Left-click the Start Button (typically in the bottom left hand of your screen.)
  2. Type on your keyboard to search for Check for Updates.
  3. Left Click the Check for updates option in the Start Menu search.

 

  1. Left-Click the Check online for updates from the Microsoft Update link.
    1. Disregard the "You are up to date" message:
      1. At this time we are having issues with automatic updates, and the only true confirmation that you are completely up to date is After checking for updates with Microsoft Update.

 

 

  1. If you have updates available, they will automatically begin downloading and installing now. 
  2. After updates install, you may be prompted to Restart.
    1. Pro Tips: Feature updates
      1. Feature updates Upgrade your computer to a newer version of Windows 10. 
      2. These updates are larger than usual and take longer to install; you may want to wait to restart until you will have an hour away from your desk, or before you leave for the day.
    2. When ready, click the Restart button.

 

  1. Repeat the above steps until there are no updates left.
