Updating DotNet Framework

Install the newest DotNet Framework Version 

  1. Follow this article to install the "DotNetFX (Choco, Newest)" application from the Software Center: Article - Installing Windows Software (teamdynamix.com)
  2. If the Install button is missing, instead replaced by a gray Uninstall button, then click the Repair button. 
    1. The application itself detects a static version of DotNetFX, for that version or greater than that version. But even if a given version is detected, the script may be able to download a still newer version.

ConfigMgr Admin Notes

  • This script utilizes Chocolety to install the latest version of Dot Net. 
    • Doing so, it downloads the installer over the internet rather than pushing the installer via ConfigMgr.
  • Detection: Periodically update the detection check of the application to ensure that it is detecting a newish version.
