Adding People to Canvas Course

Instructors are able to add other faculty or instructors to their active courses, but they are not able to add students. 

  1. Navigate to the course.
  2. Click on the People link in the course navigation.
  3. Click on the +People button
  4. Enter the full SVC email address of the person to add.
    • Choose their role in the course. (Teacher, TA, Guest Teacher, Observor, etc.)
    • Choose section if needed.
  5. Verify the email address is correct and click Next. 
    • If the user you want to add doesn't have an SVC Canvas account, you will get an error message that "We were unable to find a match." You will have to request assistance from the eLearning team to create a Canvas account for the user. 
  6. Click Add Users.
