SVC Canvas Global Announcements are intended to offer brief and timely information to Canvas users. Global announcements display as a notification on the top of a user’s Canvas dashboard.
The appropriate messages for posting on Global announcements are related to opportunities that affect student academic standing, access to SVC systems, or emergencies.
- To maintain a focus on the learning experience in Canvas, no more than 3 global announcements should appear on Canvas at the same time. Global announcement posts are filled first-come, first-served.
- Announcement messages must be brief and preferably no more than 3 sentences or don’t exceed a total of 60 words. Long announcements take up space, which covers the user’s quick access to courses.
- Consider adding external links to your message for further details about the announcement.
- By default, the announcement is posted for 7 days.
