This is a two-step process. First, you will record or take a photo on your iPad. Second, you will use the Google Chrome browser app to access your Canvas assignment. Google Chrome browser for iPad gives you the same experience as you would use it on a computer. Please note that the Canvas mobile app is not as fully functional as accessing from a full web browser.
Step 1: Make a recording with your iPad
- Go to your iPad camera app and take a photo or record a video.
- Your recording or photo will be saved in the photo’s library. Navigate to the albums to review a video or photo you want to submit
Step 2: Submitting a recording/photo to a discussion
- Open Google Chrome browser app to access SVC Canvas. (You may need to download Google Chrome from the app store if you don’t already have it)
- Go to http://skagit.instructure.com
- Sign in to your Canvas account with your MySVC email and address.
- Navigate to your class and locate the discussion assignment.
- Click "Reply." You will have the option to “Insert” media and choose “Upload/Record Media".
- Touch (drag file here)
- Choose “Photo Library” and located a photo or video you want.
- Select the video or photo you want to submit (allow the file to fully upload).
- “Post Reply” to finish.
For submitting assignment
- Choose “Submit Assignment”
- Follow the screen instructions to “Choose File” for the video you want to upload.
- Choose “Photo Library” and locate a photo or video you want.
- Select the video or photo to submit (allow the file to fully upload).
- “Submit” to finish.
Note: You can also use Google Drive or MS Office 365 to turn in assignment files/papers. This requires pairing your Google or MS Office 365 account with Canvas. After pairing them, you will use the Google Chrome browser to turn in your assignment the same way you do it on a computer.
