Updating Web Browsers

Table of Contents

Note: Internet Explorer is End of Life and No Longer Supported. SVC IT Recommends using Edge, Chrome, or FireFox for regular browsing. For websites that require Internet Explorer, first attempt to use Edge, which has the Internet Explorer browsing engine built in.

The Issue

Keeping your web browser up to date will ensure you have the latest security updates. Running an old version of a browser may make some website content fail to load.

Infrequent use of a browser, or leaving a browser open without ever closing it, may prevent the browser from automatically running updates.

Use the below procedures to check for updates in your browser of choice.
